MDToolbox Certifies Mobile Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS) Solution

MDToolbox, an industry leader in e-Prescribing software and services, is proud to announce it has certified MDToolbox-Rx Mobile for Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS). The certification enhances prescribers’ ability to electronically send all prescriptions, including schedule 2-5 drugs, with a smartphone or tablet. MDToolbox offers one of the only mobile EPCS solutions available to stand alone users, as well as integration partners on the market today. The mobile version is web-based, just like the full version, allowing prescribers to use it on any mobile device with a browser, without being limited to a specific app type. This new feature provides prescribers the ability to take care of all of their patients’ needs or emergency situations even after they have left the office. Prescribers can now complete controlled substance prescriptions while on the go or at home and be free from a computer. EPCS is becoming more important with laws such as New York’s I-STOP law going into effect.
