Mandatory EPCS in Kansas

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly signed House Bill 2119 into law on April 18th, 2019. This Act requires prescribers to electronically prescribe all controlled substances containing opioids by July 1, 2021 in an effort to combat opioid abuse and addiction.

See our blog post covering the mandate.

Kansas Controlled Substances Prescription Monitoring

Prescribers are not currently required to consult the state PMP prior to prescribing or dispensing any controlled substance.

MDToolbox offers the ability to integrate with the Kansas Controlled Substances PMP to streamline the process of checking the PMP during the prescribing workflow. Through the integration, prescribers can go directly to the patient's PMP report without having to log in to the PMP and search for the patient. Kansas offers this integration for no additional fees. Contact us for more information or fill out the trial request form above to get started today.
