Mandatory e-Prescribing in Michigan

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed House Bill 4217 into law on July 21st, 2020. This Act required prescribers to electronically prescribe all prescriptions by October 1st, 2021 in an effort to combat opioid abuse and addiction. In September of 2021, the MI Bureau of Licensing stated that the mandate would not be enforced until January 1st, 2022. The current enforcement date is January 1st, 2023.

Michigan Controlled Substances Prescription Monitoring
